New stuff on Scottsdale-Blog

I have been busy adding new info to Scottsdale-blog. I have added detail about each of the communities in McCormick Ranch, starting with the town home/patio home communities, then the apartment styled condos and the last section, still to come, will be the single family communities.

Check out the tables, making it easy to identify communities with features like golf views, heated community pool, gated and others. As the weeks go by I will be posting about each of these different communities. Making it easier for you to identify the right neighborhood for you.

Remodeling in McCormick Ranch

All of this talk of construction methods comes from me as I am remodeling my second bedroom in my McCormick Ranch town home.  This room is the west room, upstairs above the garage; so no chance of planting a tree and getting a spot of shade on that wall.

The room has been HOT in the summer and COLD in the winter.  It boasts a single pane glass window and single pane glass sliding door, and an assumption on our part that the insulation was missing in the walls.

Our plan, remove the wall board, replace the windows with Low-E,  and replace the sliding door with a dual pane French door, and insulate the walls to the max!

Here goes our transformation!

McCormick Ranch’s town home community, El Paseo

At the south east corner of Hayden Rd and Via Linda you will find the town home community of El Paseo. There are 141 homes in El Paseo, with over half of the homes having private pools, just over 20 homes back up to the Camelback Walk . Most of the homes have large master suites, with large bathrooms and closets, high ceiling’s and fireplaces. With no community pools or other amenities, the HOA fees are low at $80 per month and include the front yard maintenance. This is a great location to be close to everything, and keep the expenses down.

Camello Vista in McCormick Ranch

Camello Vista is located south of McCormick Parkway and to the east of Hayden Rd. This town home community has single level, two level and upstairs/ downstairs units. The community was built from 1974-1978 with 241 homes. All of the homes have detached 2 car garages. The community has 2 heated pools with heated spas and club houses with on-site management office. The main clubhouse has rooms for parties, a kitchen for food preparation, some exercise equiptment, as well as a library/ card room. The HOA fees are currently $325 a month and include roof repair, water, sewer, garbage, pest control and blanket insurance policy.
